Hallie R. Gaines began her legal career representing union members, most of which were from the Correction Officer's Benevolent Association (COBA), in matrimonial and family court proceedings, as well as in landlord/tenant matters, throughout the inner/outer boroughs from Bronx, Manhattan to Suffolk and Nassau counties. Subsequently, Hallie worked at Legal Services of the Hudson Valley in the Newburgh office, where she represented low income persons with disabilities, homeowners in foreclosure matters, handled consumer cases, education cases, public benefits, family law matters, and unemployment hearings. She ran the uncontested divorce clinic where she assisted pro se litigants with the divorce process. She also represented individuals in matrimonial and family court matters, who experienced domestic violence by their spouse or significant other. Hallie has been committed to public interest law throughout her fourteen (14) years of practicing. Her practice focuses on divorce, separation agreements, custody and support matters, and litigation.
